Why Online Ticketing Wesbites were Banned in AP ?

In 2009. when cinegoers complained of exorbitant service charges of Online Ticketing Websites, The Government passed a G.O. licensing Galaxy Entertainers to sell tickets online at a nominal amount of 6/- as booking charges. But the websites continued to run their businesses and recently a court order was issued banning them all.

Beyond Basiks Infotech which runs Easymovies is the only ticketing website that is authorized to sell in AP now since it charges only 5.52/- as service charges. But Even Galaxy can’t sell now because they got monopolistic. Now all other vendors, who were charging more than 6 as service charges are banned from selling tickets.

The online ticketing websites have decided to form an association of online ticketing portals to push the government into action.

BookMyShow, TicketDada, NoMoreQueue, TicketNew, TicketPlease, KyaZoonga and official websites of 5 Multiplexes operating in AP are banned from selling Tickets. But Online Ticketing for Tenali Big Cinemas and Fun Cinemas ( Talkie Town ) continue to be in operation in few websites and also in official portals may be due to their service charges being below 6/-.
