ABO Review : 'Pailwaan'
By OM
‘Pailwaan` is an Ordinary Commercial Pot-boiler in Sports Backdrop!.
Story :
Sarkar (Sunil Shetty) is a Desi Wrestling Guru. Krishna aka Kichcha (Sudeep) is an orphan and Sarkar trains him well hoping for a Championship Title one day. But Love Diverts Krishna, and an upset Sarkar kicks him out. The rest is about how Krishna raises again to win Boxing Championship.
Performances:
Sudeep is impressive as a wrestler and his acting is good in a typical mass role. Suniel Shetty plays an important part with good ease. Aakanksha Singh, Sushant Singh and Kabir Dulhan Singh were let down by routine characterisations.
Technical Departments:
Action : Pretty Decent!.
Music: Ordinary
.
Cinematography: Good.
Editing: Adequate.
Analysis :
`Pailwaan` is a Typical Commercial Pot-boiler which tries to offer some thing for everyone. The Sports Backdrop is a plus for the film but there isn`t anything you haven`t seen before. Pailwaan`s 2nd half is Decent although it is still a bit Under-dramatised and had potential for more. This may work well with the Target Kannada Audience for whom Sudeep is an established Mass Hero but the appeal is limited for other Markets.
Plus:
1. Fighting Sequences
2. Casting
Minus:
1. Routine Narration
2. Lengthy
Movie Rating: 2.5/5
Box-office Verdict :
This may work only in Kannada.
Ratings :
1 - Stay Away
2 - Poor
2.5 - So-So
3 - Watchable
3.5 - Good
4 - Very Good
4.5 - Outstanding
5 - Out of this World
