ABO Review : Uppena

`Uppena` is a `Masculine` Romantic Drama

Story :

Aasi (Vaishnav Tej) from a fisherman’s family and Bebamma (Krithi Shetty), the daughter of an Upper Caste landlord Rayanam (Vijay Sethupati) fall in love. Their Relationship creates a storm in Aasi`s family and leads to a traumatic loss. Can the love of Aasi and Bebamma overcome these setbacks?!.

Performances:

Vaishnav Tej is a surprise package and makes a solid debut. It is a commendable job from him and he performed like an experienced lad. Krithi Shetty shines in a natural act and fits the role beautifully. Vijay Sethupathi as the main antagonist with a towering screen presence and intimidating characterization is a major asset. Senior actor Sai Chand gets an impactful role and other supporting cast are adequate.

Technical Departments:

Music: Excellent.

Cinematography: Good.

Editing: Fine.

Stunts: Decent.

Analysis :

`Uppena` is a predictable story line but told with a grand packaging, attractive cast, magical music and rich visuals!. The film`s 1st half is especially good but the 2nd half loses a bit of steam in the middle but the ending makes up for it. On the whole, `Uppena` is a pretty much watchable film thanks to the lead pair chemistry and music. And Moreover, the film touches a very important aspect of masculinity and defines it from the perspective of love!.
