Detailed Review : D For Dopidi
By
OM
Produced by Bollywood Director duo, Raj & DK `D For Dopidi` is a Bank Robbery based Entertainer. Nani also bought a stake in the film recently and also did a Promotion song & Voice-over. It has managed to create some buzz around it thanks to these developments and a release through Dil Raju. But has it lived up to the curiosity around it?. Read on.
Story :
4 Youth who are in dire need of money due to altogether different personal issues decide to rob a local Bank in day light!. What follows is a comedy of errors, hostage situation and completely unknown characters entering the scene making it worse for them.
Performances:
It is typical role for Varun Sandesh. He`s at ease and did a neat act in his own limitations. One can`t have high expectations on him, can we?.
Sundeep Kishan`s dialogue delivery is good in this flick. He did his job and is adequate.
There is this new `Tagubothu` type guy in this film who`s the main source for comedy of errors. Tanikella Bharani is good as usual & Director Deva Katta`s Police act is worth a mention.
Technical Departments
Music
: Only 2 songs in the film out of which 1 is a rolling titles special shot on Nani. BGM is good in parts & Music is pretty average.
Cinematography
: Camera work is good in this film. It almost made up for the poor production values.
Editing
: It is a short, less than 2 hour film. Editing is adequate.
Action
: No major fights in the film as it is a mostly run in a Hostage situation.
Story,Screenplay & Direction
:
Siraj Kalla has managed to make the audience interested about the next scene all the time with his Screenplay. Story, although nothing new has a feel of some freshness to it thanks to the narration. Dialogues are okay.
Plus
1.Screenplay
2.Comedy of Errors
3.Camera
Minus
1.Dragged 2nd Half
2.Sudden ending
3.Production Values
Verdict: 3 / 5
The film, an Entertaining Bank Robbery Drama is a watchable one thanks to its screenplay. Apart from that, there is nothing that is exceptional or very bad about it. It is made on a low budget and it shows in production values. If The film is promoted aggressively it may turn out be a safe one.
Bottom Line:
Strictly for time Pass.
